Website Cookie Policy

Effective Date: September 21, 2026

Spicy Friends ("us", "we", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on the Spicy Friends website (the "Service"). Essential cookies are required for the Service to work. Analytics cookies are used only if you opt in through our cookie banner or Cookie Settings.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are used to store small pieces of information. They are stored on your device when the website is loaded on your browser. These cookies help us make the website function properly, make it more secure, provide a better user experience, and—when you consent—understand how the website performs.

How Spicy Friends Uses Cookies

When you use and access the Service, we may place cookies in your web browser. We use cookies for the following purposes:

  • Essential Cookies: Always on. These cookies are required for sign-in, language preferences, security (including Cloudflare Turnstile bot protection), remembering your cookie choices, and basic site features. We also use cookies or similar storage to manage signup and account administration, keep you signed in, and preserve UI state during optional flows such as Supporter checkout or e-Transfer instructions.

  • Analytics Cookies: Off until you accept analytics or enable them in Cookie Settings. These help us understand how visitors use the Service. When enabled, they include Google Analytics and masked Sentry session replay. Changing analytics preferences reloads the page so tracking and session replay can start or stop.

We do not currently use advertising cookies or Meta Pixel (or similar advertising pixels) on the Service.

Types of Cookies

  • Session Cookies: Temporary cookies that expire when you close your browser.
  • Persistent Cookies: Remain on your device for a specified period or until you delete them (for example, your cookie-preference cookie).
  • Third-Party Cookies: Cookies set by a domain other than the one you are visiting. When you consent to analytics, this may include cookies from Google Analytics. Security features such as Turnstile may also involve Cloudflare.

Analytics and related security or monitoring vendors may process information outside Canada (including in the United States). For categories of recipients and transborder processing details, see our Privacy Policy (Section 3.1).

How to Manage Cookies

You can decide whether to allow analytics cookies:

  1. Cookie banner: On your first visit (or until you make a choice), you can Accept, Decline, or manage preferences.
  2. Cookie Settings: Use Cookie Settings in the site footer at any time to open preferences and turn analytics on or off.
  3. Global Privacy Control (GPC): We treat a GPC signal as a request to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context advertising. We do not sell or share personal information for those purposes. A GPC signal is not consent to analytics cookies.
  4. Browser Settings: Most web browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the Service from working.
  5. Google Analytics Opt-out: You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We may update our Cookie Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Cookie Policy on this page with a new effective date. You are advised to review this Cookie Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Cookie Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
